Meet John Zeidner – within 24-hours of creating his fundraising page, he raised $1300! Read on to hear how he has raised more than $2300…
John is fundraising because
Unfortunately, John is no stranger to cancer - his father, aunt, and more recently his mother have battled or are still battling it. Raising awareness and funds to the Lance Armstrong Foundation tied in nicely with his passion for running.
John chose to fundraise for the Lance Armstrong Foundation because
The Lance Armstrong Foundation has been a great practical resource for John and his family as immediately after the diagnosis, they provide support, tips, and resources.
Over time, John has become a huge advocate for the Lance Armstrong Foundation by volunteering, participating in the Livestrong Summits, and raising funds.
John is running the Kiawah Island Marathon because
As an avid marathoner, Kiawah Island is John’s race to get a personal best of 3 hours and 45 minutes. It’s close to his family’s vacation home and is a fast, flat and beautiful course.
John has raised more than $2300
John is a busy guy - he has a wife, two kids, two dogs, works full time, trains, and is a caregiver in his Mom’s cancer fight. So, when it comes to fundraising offline, John has “bandwidth problems”.
John has done all of his fundraising online by sending off email blasts. He has tailored messages which he has sent to 4 different groups of contacts. Within the past couple weeks, John has raised more than $2300, only $700 away from his goal.
John said, “The key is to make giving easy for people, and your site makes it easy for me to raise funds and easy for my supporters to donate.”
