One of the most exciting things Team Firstgiving gets to do is connect athlete-fundraisers with charities who use endurance events to raise money online. As marathoners and triathletes who fundraise ourselves, we know a lot about training and fundraising, and we love to help athlete-fundraisers achieve their goals. Check out the fundraiser spotlight section on our blog to read some inspiring Team Firstgiving stories.
Training season for the Boston Marathon is getting underway this month, and we’ve had a bunch of athletes contact us to ask how they can run for charity. We’ve put them in touch with non-profits looking for runners for their Boston Marathon charity programs. It’s a win-win.

This week Team Firstgiving attended a marathon kick-off meeting for the Esplanade Association, a local non-profit and part of the Boston Marathon Charity Program. They still have a couple of numbers available for their team. If you are interested in running for charity, contact Christopher Murton at cmurton@esplanadeassociation.org or by phone at (617) 227.0365.
As part of the team, you’ll get coaching for both your running and fundraising. Lace up your running shoes; they start training together this week!
Thanks for the heads up! I send an email to Christopher, looking forward to running for Team Esplinade Association - and raising funds through FirstGiving!
